Smiling Cherry Yixing Teapot
Our signature Twilight Collection has been a longtime fan favorite, showcasing teapots crafted from decades-aged Wuni (乌泥), a subcategory of Zini clay from Huanglong Mountain. Fired in a specialized kiln at over 1,200°C, these teapots feature a smooth, deep red luster and a mesmerizing iridescent sheen. The finely textured clay develops a natural patina over time, adding to its timeless appeal.
This Smiling Cherry (笑樱) teapot, is a classic design within the Yixing teapot tradition, dating back to the Ming Dynasty. Its name reflects its distinctive form: the body tapers gracefully from top to bottom into a flat, rounded shape with a ring foot. The upward-curving spout and handle lend the teapot a delightful appearance, resembling a gentle smile when viewed in profile.
The decoration features Zisha clay painting of a pair of peacocks playing among flowering branches. The peacock is often used as a metaphor for striking beauty, elegance, and confidence, carrying connotations of good fortune and proud display.
