The Dawn Collection features a range of stylish Yixing teapots with charming and innovative designs. Crafted from our signature 'Que Tou Qing' Lvni clay, sourced from Huanglong Mountain, these teapots possess a deep blue-green hue after firing. With continued use and patina development, they acquire a smooth, jade-like texture, making them irresistible to tea enthusiasts.

The Begonia (海棠) teapot belongs to the classic ribbed-style category and is considered a highly challenging form to craft. Its flattened, rounded body is encircled by raised ribs resembling blooming begonia petals, giving the lines a full and rhythmic appearance. The lid and rim fit symmetrically, with the lid following the petal contours and topped by a small, rounded knob. The short spout and rounded handle are well-proportioned, lending the relatively large vessel a sense of dignity without sacrificing grace.

The begonia flower carries rich symbolism. While it evokes a gentle and graceful feeling, its resilience to cold also represents perseverance and strength. In addition, begonias were often planted alongside magnolias, peonies, osmanthus, and other prestigious flowers in imperial gardens, symbolizing prosperity and good fortune.

Beauty of the Ribbed Style Yixing Teapot

Yixing Zisha "ribbed-style" teapots are designs derived and refined from natural forms such as melon ribs and flower petals. The body is decorated with evenly divided, three-dimensional ribs that are well-balanced, orderly, and harmonious, with smooth and fluid lines that create a strong sense of rhythm and visual cadence. Traditional Zisha ribbed teapots are mostly crafted by first forming a rounded body and then attaching clay strips, pressing the ribs, aligning them with templates, and carefully assembling the parts. The ribs run continuously from the lid through the body and terminate cleanly at the base, leaving the bottom plain.

Ribbed Yixing teapots are particularly challenging to create, requiring a higher standard of craftsmanship, making them a cherished choice among tea enthusiasts for their distinctive appeal.
