Wo Long Yixing Teapot
The Sunlight Collection showcases teapots crafted from premium golden Duanni (黃金段泥) clay, meticulously wood-fired over several days. Wood-fired Yixing teapots are renowned for their ability to soften and smooth water, enhancing the tea's flavor. Their unique texture, formed by natural ash and flame during firing, appeals to many tea enthusiasts.
The Wo Long (臥龍) teapot has an innovative design that balances elegance with stability. The teapot’s flat, rounded body with three-legged support represents the steadiness of Zhuge Liang, a renowned statesman, strategist, and inventor from China’s Three Kingdoms period (220–280) . Known as 'Mr. Wolong' (Crouching Dragon), his talent could not remain unnoticed, reflected in the teapot’s tall and refined lifting handle.
The teapot also features a poetic hand-painted cloud-and-crane motif, one of the earliest and most popular auspicious images in traditional Chinese culture, symbolizing longevity as well.
Additionally, its size makes it an ideal choice for serving tea to two or more people.
