Wild Plume Dragon Egg Teapot
Discover our latest Wild Plume collection, i.e., the dance of gold and fire. The creation of this collection is challenging due to the high failure rate associated with the specialized firing technique. Genuine gold powder is added during the firing process, resulting in a unique iridescent pattern on the teapot’s surface without sacrificing its breathability. The color finish varies for each piece, influenced by the type of clay used as well as the different firing parameters applied.
The earliest record of the Dragon Egg (龍蛋) teapot dates back to the Ming Dynasty, where it was first mentioned by Grand Master Shi Dabin in the "Yangxian Teapot Ode." The name "Dragon Egg" comes from its shape, with an overall contour resembling an elongated oval, much like a dragon's egg.
This edition is crafted from Lvni (綠泥) clay, renowned for its exceptional breathability among all Yixing clays.
